VALLEY ART Classes, Workshops & Groups
July 29th, Nature Scrolls with Jeanne Levy – combine your love of nature with your desire to create a piece of art truly your own. Use simple acrylic painting (no expertise required), some mark making with easy to use tools, a few simple stitches to attach mementos from the woods, and some gluing of various items. This one day class, from 10 am to 5 pm, with a one hour lunch break, costs $30. All materials are supplied. Bring nature items – dried ferns, shells, twigs if you have some you’d like to use. Fine Art Screenprinting with April Hoff, Saturday Aug 5, 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Learn to make fine art serigraphs (screen prints) by creating your own multi-color stencils to layer using permanent acrylic ink on paper. Marketing Bootcamp for Artists w/ Kerry Cobb – Saturday Sept. 9, 10am-1pm. This workshop is designed specifically for artists who wish to learn better techniques for marketing and selling their art. $35 per person. Space is limited to 25 students. Instructor Kerry Cobb is the Executive Director of the Columbia Center for the Arts and has over 30 years of direct marketing, promotions, and public relations experience. Capture the Light for a Magical Night! w/ Amy Nack, Saturday Oct. 7, 10am-4:30pm When evening draws near, lanterns have a way of making any space a little more magical. Using the Speedball Gel Printing plate we will produce delicate printed papers using professional quality Akua inks for creating a four-sided reversible hinged lantern inspired by contemporary paper artist, Helen Hiebert. After printing, we will hand cut card stock panels and build a small wooden frame for assembling our gorgeous, hand crafted lantern to illuminate your beautiful prints!
Break out the LED candles or display in a window in the style of a small Shoji screen. Participants are encouraged to bring their own stencils or natural objects for personalized markmaking.
Introducing Linocut w/ April Hoff – Saturday Nov. 12, 1:00-5:00pm. Learn to carve small scenes on linoleum blocks and print them. All materials provided. Preregistration required. Email email@example.com ($45, $40 VAA members with code)

Forest Grove Camera Club

The Forest Grove Camera Club is a member of the Photographic Society of America (PSA) and the Columbia Council of Camera Clubs.
